    Drill Bit

    Hey mang's, So i got a sorta Gun shot Dent on my passenger side pannel and i want to drill and tap it back out... Only question i got's is umm, What type of drill bit do you guys use on our cars :-D, i dont even know what gauge of steel it is.. Looks like a 12gag though... Maybey a 10.. i dunno..


    Any ways, just shoot me a drill bit id and # :-D and size!

    use a drill bit for metal,, why dont you just take your door panel off had hammer and dolley it out?

      it's not the dorr it's the front pannel ) but i will take it off to do it.. Humm... Hammer and dolly.. Deifne please :-D

              why is there a bullet hole in your car?

              1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt

                Front panel? You mean the header? If it its, they are fiberglass. If thats the case I'm interested to know how it dented.

                  Yeah man clear this up for us. A drill bit? Are you going to drill a hole in the metal to pull out the dent? If you do that is old school, you will need to weld up that hole you make, DON'T fill over it. If you have access to the backside of the panel then use hammer and dolly. If you do get them, just get a universal dolly and a standard pick hammer and that will do almost everything for you.

                    There is a slug indentaion due to it was shot at from someone with a 410 or some small shotgun..


                    Yea, Drill and tap.. It's old school, but you would half to know who i learned my body work from lol,

                    Im talking about the pannel under/beside the hood...Next to the door...


                    And yes, i got a crack jack welder by hand and can, fabracate a little )


                    But this hammer and dolly sounds verry interesting. :-D

                      Thats a fender. They unbolt and then you can access that area fairly easy. If you do need to drill it, its just sheet metal. Any metal bit will do it. I don't know the gauge of the metal but I'd be surprised if its more than like 14 ga or so. These things aren't built like a 50s car and the metal isn't all that thick.
