It'll be a long while before I get around to getting new wheels, but by then my opinion may change, lol.
It'll just be really hard to find any others with the backspacing like these...1984 Ford Crown Vic LTD, The Murphmobile (RIP)

The story behind the rims... my senior year my uncle said he had some rims in his shed/barn at his house (since I was looking for a used set), and if I wanted them, all I'd have to do is give him what I had on the Murphmobile (my '84) in trade, after I bought new tires for the slots. They had 245/65's on the back and 225/70's on the front, lol. Yes, the rears fit in the fenders, I tested the good one, haha.
So dad and I drove to his house... and he pulled them out of his barn, lol. I instantly fell in love, and decided they were to be mine. They were off his 60's Dodge van when he was younger, they are at the newest from 1973. So they're originals.
Only had them on it for 3 months, lost my license a week or two after I put them on. For 2 of those months I didn't have my license, then a month after I got it back I got the Deuce for a graduation present and swapped them onto it.
And NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I refuse to get rid of my vinyl top, lol. It's only about 2 years old, and it looks better than factory. Besides... how many cars even come with those now? It's classic, and keeps the old-school scheme alive in the car. That's one thing I can't get rid of, lol.
Now if I had a two-door....................that's a different story.Last edited by murphmobile2; 02-11-2007, 10:09 PM.1984 Ford Crown Vic LTD, The Murphmobile (RIP)
