    Fender Skirts!

    Howdy.

I got some fender skirts for Christmas. I guess I should go with body color paint, eh? My brother threw out black...But I think the Currant Red would look better.

These are cool, completely reversible clamp-on installation. I'm going to head out to the junkyard and grab some trim for the front door and splice it onto the skirt for a more seamless look.

    Any responses are welcomed.

Meh, they kind of throw off the lines of the car. As long as you like 'em though.

It would be cool if you could extend them a bit to match the bottom of the car...

My wife drives a 1993 Sable, and it has a skirt-like line over the rear wheel, where it cuts off the veiw to the top two inches or so of the tire. On that vehicle, I think it was a terrible styling desicion. On your car, which is alot more of a luxury car than the Sable, I'd be more inclined to think fender skirts would be acceptable. But you need the continental trunk kit and some chrome spokes to go with it too. Then you are the pimp fo-real.

They kinda throw the lines off, but if you could get them to look like Capridrifter's chop up I think it would look pretty good.

Good Lord...I don't think I could get it to look like Capri's chop. I like these skirts though, they should look something like this... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2246452 ; just a different color.

And I wouldn't mind having a continental kit either.

Personally, I'm not into the skirts... but if you can get 'em to match the paint well and you run the molding to match it up as you said, I think you'll pull it off just fine.

Good luck in the mod and if you don't get pictures as soon as it's done, Jon will choke you in your sleep.

I don't know when they'll be painted - that's gonna be professionally done cause I'd rather not try to blend paint from a spray can - but I hope to have the trim tomorrow if I can get to the junk yard.

Eww I don't think I want them anymore. I was afraid they were goin to be short like that...longer than I expected tho. These are the ones from JCW?

                    Congrats tho!

Are they made of fiberglass? I bet I could make 'em longer and look decent...

Doh, just checked. They're too expensive for something I don't plan to use. If somebody wants a set that match the lower body lines, I'm pretty sure I could do it for them.

Yeah boX; they are from JCW. $169.95 or whatever they were.

Jumbo; I'm pretty satisfied with these now, but maybe in the future, I'll be calling you up for a full size pair.

I was thinking they were metal but fiberglass is pretty easy to work with with lots of work and if you took your time im sure it could work the exact way you want them to.

I like the look of em on the guy's GM you posted a link to. Something like that would look great on your car. But you can do it however you like.
