Wires dont look right when you are trying to make the car more menacing by blacking chrome out. Steelies FTW

My uncles friend took the wires on his Caprice apart...used the center and the ring. Now that looked cool, if we could do that with ours...

I don't mind the look of our wires, esp '88-'91. They look pretty good with some RWL tires.

Wow Scott, that looks great! You did a really good job, nice car man!

Now, you just need a set of black wheels  I would suggest some like GMGT has right now, plus they are good priced!

You did a good job, but I liked it better bright. I don't understand everybodys obsession with black, but to each their own.

I like bright too; that's why I did mine the way I did. Blacking out part of the chrome makes what you leave as chrome stand out even more. The black (in my humble opinion) is more than anything else just to set off the chrome a little more. That also means I need to get another set of bezels and do just the insides in black so it'll look better. Though I kind of like it the way it is, too, so we'll just wait and see.

The wires do come off the caps, when I first got my car, I cleaned the hell out of the entire car, took out all the wires and polished them up by hand. It took forever to get them laced up again.

You can try taking the wires out and blacking the backround of the cap and leaving the the trim ring and center merc emblem chrome.

That would be pretty sharp. I might have to try that.

Summit has them in chrome too (15 in), but they don't have a picture. Here's the red ones:

Sorry about the thread jacking, but i've been looking for wire rims for a little while now, and I didn't think to look at Summit. Anywho, what are the stock wheel specs for a box Panther? When I say specs I mean wheel size, offset, etc.

I think all that info is in a sticky at the top of the Suspension Forum.

And those wire wheels are beautiful!

They are nice, but they're also rather expensive. The red ones are around $300 a wheel, and the chrome ones are $350. Pretty expensive for 15" wheels, but they are wires.
