Anybody ever use POR-15? I just ordered a starter kit to try and take care of a little rust on the tudor. Just wondering how easy it is to apply. Will post pics and results afterwards.

I bought a can years ago and never used it. I did buy some of thier high temp paint, and it was great. Applied very easily and held up pretty well on the stock headers I had.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

dont get paint on the lip of the can and then close it - you'll never get it open again. Also its very important not to leave the lid off long or get water or sweat in it, or it wont work as well.
They reccomend divvying it up into smaller portions in glass bottles if you arent going to use it all at once.Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

Word of advice on the body seam rusting on the "A" pillar... It rusts because when it rains, the bolts holding the door hinges on leak... Ford never used any sealant on them when they install the door hinges.... And there is sort of a "channel" between the hinge and the "A" pillar, where the water sits, and slowly runs into the pillar.... later Ford vehicles were sealed by running a bead of sillicone across the top of the hinge, where it meets the pillar....so that the water would run off... (Check out the new trucks, you will see what I mean..) So you should probably get the Eastwood products undercoat spray set up, that has the long tube and nozzles to get into body panels, and spray it inside the "A" pillar, by taking off one of the bolts, and sliding it in the hole.... The kit has right angle and reverse angle spray heads to get the entire inside of a body cavity... I am going to do that to my 91 soon.... as it has the same problem.... Then seal the whole thing up by removing the bolts one at a time and putting some sealant on the threads, and re-install them.... Then take a grinder and clean up the seam, put some more of the por 15 on it, and prime and paint it.... (Also, Eastwood Products is supposed to have a better rust kill product than the Por 15)
Here is their website:
This is an article a resto magazine did on the comparison of the two products....

Wear gloves. If you get it on yourself it wont be off for days or up to a week. It will NEVER come off of clothes. Its just like paint, use a paint brush to brush it on, it's really easy. When you're finished put a plastic garbage bag between the lid and the can otherwise you will never get it off again. I wouldn't bother putting it in different containers...the cap wont get stuck if you put a peice of plastic in there. From my experience it works great and I plan to do the whole floor pan of the Monte this winter.

Por is some serious chit. Does a hell of a Job at covering and preventing further rust. Although I have also heard of a product called rust bullet that's supposed to be awesome.1988 Ford Mustang coupe: 4cyl conversion, 5spd, 600cfm holley, roller rockers, headers, 2.5\" mac exhaust, alum. driveshaft, HD clutch, poor mans posi, blah blah blah.....
