thats right!
I have been jumbling around the idea of upgrading my CFI to HO spec. why??? becuase Im :coocoo: thats why!
It would be relativly easy and low cost compared to a carb swap or MPFI HO swap. Everything would be direct bolt on, and Id have the fastest CFI panther ever!!!!! No TV linkages to fool with, no fuel system modifications.
Plus, at the end, once I realize what a dumb idea it was to begin with, Ill just be a carbswap away from real power!!!
I recently bought an 85 mustang CFI computer, distributor, intake manifold and CFI unit off Ebay.
It hasnt arrived yet, and i havent gotten any indication from the seller that he is even alive, so this flame might get put out before its even lit!
Mostly I am interested in seeing if the CFI unit has bigger throttle bores or fuel rail, and the computer which would allow a cam to be run.
I doubt the intake manifold is any better, but at least I can clean it up and get the carbon out of it, saving time during the swap of trying to clean the old one.
I wouldnt expect to make any real power with this... just better than stock!!
PS this is mostly a pipe dream, so dont expect to see much progress past swapping CFI units any time soon!
