Look at some of the CDT component sets. They are pretty high end for the price you pay. Like 85CrownHPP said, the preout voltage on the head unit plays a part also, a big part.
Also, like I said, I run that same amp and these speakers CDT-CL61A my ears ring, and I am told by everyone who listens to my speakers they sound amazing. The head unit I run is an Alpine CDA-9855 (look at the specs). A very nice unit I may add. The amp you have, the reason I picked that out for you is because those refurbs were VERY good buys for the price at the time. (That's why I picked up two myself). So that refurb Planet Audio hasn't given you any trouble? One of mine got stolen a while back.
