i bought one of the cheapo wally world explode systems(sony head unit and 4 speakers) a couple years ago(i think they're $90 now)

great sound for the money and not real flashy.

fit in the dash neat enough without an adapter plate, the back speakers fit right in, the only problem was the front speakers were too big to go under the dashpad but since it was cracked where the speakers sat anyhow, i just cut the dashpad and mounted them on top.(a little snug, right up against the windshield but not too tight)

so for a little over $100 including buying a wiring adapter kit, its hard to go wrong.

i was actually in pepboys today getting something else and they had a cheapo cd player on display that actually looked pretty simple and unnoticable. does anyone know where i could get the harness adapter and dash mounting kit online? maybe ebay or something a little cheaper then out of the store? and also how does the molding come off from around the radio and climate controll? i wanted to avoide cracking it

this is the one in my lincoln. i have the same one in the merc aswell with a darker color face plate. these pioneers were the most subtle decks that i could find, but they dont make em like this anymore.
