    Wiper Motor Interchangeability???

I just killed the wiper motor in my '86 Crown Vic. What years are compatible with my wiper motor? The junkyard I frequent has 88+ Panthers; and a couple resident TCs from the 80s.

Don't know off hand, but the service motor from ford comes with a new pigtail to splice onto your existing wiring as the connector is different on older cars. So, late cars are probably a safe bet, just snip out a length of the connectors to go with it.

right, motor connector difference. Physically it fits up though. I think they changed the motor in 87 or 88. Its fairly obviously not the same, one plug vs 2 plugs. Not that hard to re-wire to take the later motor either.

        Cool, thanks

I have a few items to get at the JY anyways. Hopefully they will have a 79-87 box when I get there next

1987 was the first year Ford went to a two wire harness for the wiper motor, they had a kit to splice the new motor to the old wires.
If the JY does not have it, call Green Sales they do.
