    Antenna mast replacement/part number

    Hello guys,

So it looks like the summer long repairs are coming to an end finally. New head gaskets, new power steering pump, new water pump, new fan clutch... Now we decided to finish up some of the cosmetic stuff - get working door lock actuators and rear window motors. Expensive project given the geography, but with so much effort invested, now is not the time to give up.

One of the outstanding items remains the antenna. It has been bent, therefore does not go in. The motor works.

Replacing the mast should be sufficient, if it is possible. Should also make the job easier given how hard it is to access the power antenna. I am trying to find it online, but seem to be struggling finding the correct part number. Please assist

    Thank you!

Ohh! The 89. I thought the 99 did not have an external antenna (long sold)...

According to Tasca Ford the # for the power antenna mast alone is E6AZ18A886A. Of course that is a discontinued part, and using the part number in ebay and Amazon produced no matching results - they know it's a power antenna mast but they have no listings for it, so they both came up with other "similar" results which were power masts for different Ford vehicles. You may have to buy a no-name replacement for the mast, or do a search using more generic terms like "89 Grand Marquis antenna mast" for example.

FYI... I have a couple of the china knock-off masts... they work, but you can tell they are cheap as hell. I ended up getting another whole power antenna unit picked from a yard and swapped the mast over.
