Can a 2-plug wiper motor be replaced with a 1-plug (and new wiring)?

Rockauto has a good deal on a motorcraft wiper motor for my 91... it's a one-plug (mine is two) but it comes with a new one-plug connector and pigtail... anyone done it??? They both have 7 wires total, so I'm guessing its not an intermittent / non-intermittent difference.

My 87 crown victoria has the one plug. All functions work. I did not do the conversion.

Just need the two wiring diagrams. Should be the one wire grounds to the case while the two wire grounds out through a wire. Should be pretty straight forward... but this is Ford... straight forward is sometimes a foreign concept.

Yup, one of my devil-fuel beasts is done like that, heck if I remember the other one but if it's not it will be when the time comes. Read diagrams and match wires, and for the love of everything sacred make sure your splices between the harness and the new connector and nice and strong and weathertight!!!

I think they had or come with an adapter harness to convert one to the other. I could swear I've seen a plug and pray solution to this though.

There is a TSB on this. (ford superceded one for the other). The new one should come with some instructions.
