I buy whatever is on sale. No troubles with them. If you get ones that are way too tall, have slapped out wiper transmission, a bad parking cam, or the hood is adjusted way f'd up they might not park properly. Mine wouldn't park when the transmission was shot. They also wouldn't stay on the glass unless I drove with my hand out the window to act as a bump stop the last time I drove the car before I replaced the linkage.

I might also be the only person who runs stock size blades. Maybe thats why I don't have all these problems. I'm neither tall nor short enough for extra blade length to make any difference to me. I really could give a damn about the top and bottom 3 inches of windshield.

I do run stock length beam blades. That may help.

I recall seeing few Boxes with Trico Teflon Shield blades on them in the junkyard. Looked like they cleared the hood okay when it was shut. They were the stock size, however.

          Dear Panthers,

Since my Ford Dealer parts man's feelings are hurt every time he has to say "Ain't got that" and "ain't got that either", I let him supply my wiper blades.

Stock length vs non stock length isn't an issue when it comes to clearing the hood, at least all the wipers I see in stores are the same thickness regardless of the length. Depending on brand, there may be a few exceptions to that though but from what I've seen it is very few if any.
