"I *still* believe that this will be very easy..." <----- my opening words on this repair and issue
Apparently so, this oxidation issue. I'ts working perfectly as of today and yesterday I should say. I am stunned as well as relieved and chagrin. Life is like this 'some' times and we just have to press ahead and then when we least expect it, the wildest things occur. I truly need a break with this issue after my month long struggle with the break-in and theft attempt damage. Now I am stunned as this is two for two as of this date and time. I haven't even open the package on these replacement buttons yet and yet that is not what is important. I do not have to go through hours of BS just to get this back to fully functional. BTW. this lube and cleaner was bought at Radio Shack here and I read the labels very carefully as I wanted to make sure I had the best possible at an affordable price. I believe one more good hit of he stuff and all will be well as this car is left outside and the moisture issue alone will zap all sorts of things including power belt bearings that normally do not wear so fast. Talk about 'easy' right? It never occurred to me to try this *until* I viewed a video on-line and just how to free up scratchy potentiometers in radio and electronic equipment and in the fray it touched on just how to approach such a switch as this and I gave it a try, from the outside in.
I cannot believe my good fortune! As always it's best to be patient, relax, ask questions, pause and sleep on it and proceed slowly but with thought. They actually have a name for this now ( psychologically ) and it's called 'white space'.
