Has anyone here ever experience problems due to the fusible link wires that go to the starter solenoid on the fender??? After having the worst experience with my 1984 mercury dying... i was on the side of the road and started moving wires around. Finally i got over to the fusible link cluster and bumped it and the relays clicked. i move the harness and the relays go on off on off. Whats the best way to go about fixing this problem? Ever happen to anyone?

You replace the fusible link that is bad. They work like a fuse essentially, so either something shorted and it burned out or it just broke from being 30 years old and moved around a ton of times. If the wire isn't melted, and if it happens to be broken near the end you might be able to just cut it where it seems to be broken and put in a crimp connector. I think the factory setup soldered the two wires together, and its possible the joint broke.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
