starter wire goes to where on the transmission???

My 84 TC wouldn't crank with the key. Key turns on. I traced it to a broken( chewed) wire just above the transmission. I by passed the rest of it looping it back to the connector just before it goes to the tranny. Connecting it to the white w/ pink spots. The start wire is the only one that was chewed, go figure. It starts and runs now.

So where does the wire(s) go to on the drivers side of the transmission???

There is a plug on the drivers side on my 89 GM that is the neutral safety switch and the reverse light switch. It may also be for overdrive? WagonMan

The start circuit runs through the Neutral Safety Switch on the side of the transmission. Sounds like your car might start up in gear now, be careful!

Kind of thought so, I will eventually fix it properly.
