its 13 ounces total, if nothing has any oil in it. There is a chart somewhere in that book that tells you how much to add depending on what parts are replaced too.

Did you vacuum it down first?

you will have issues then. gotta vacuum it down first to get excess air and moisture out. Could cause internal issues later on and will prevent it from working at full potential.

X2 on vacuuming it down! As for the idling issues. Start with the basics. Verify the timing is set correctly, the IAC is clean and operating properly, the tps is set below 1 volt, .900v preferably (my preference). Set base idle with no IAC at 650rpm +/-50rpm.

timing is set at 10 with spout disconnected,IAC is clean and operating properly, the tps is set below 1 volt,Set base idle with no IAC at 700. it idles fine untill i turn on ac then idle surges and when put in gear it shuts off.any other tips or tricks would be helpful thanks

check the WOT relay. if the coil is shot on that, I don't think the ECM will sense AC-ON and may cause this issue.

quick and dirty check for this is to code scan it with the AC on. it should be a code 67. If you get nothing with the AC on, then the ECM doesn't know the AC is on. This should be a key on, engine off test. Also do the running test to see if its got any IAC r elated codes. 700 rpm is too high anyway for base idle. Target is something like 675, and it has to be below that for the IAC to control it correctly.
