    Ignition problem...No Spark

    Hey guys,
First time posting here. I have an 83 Grand Marquis LS with the 5.0 CFI and Duraspark II.
Last year I pulled the intake off, replaced gaskets, replaced valve cover gaskets, distributor cap, rotor and wires. After I was done with the little bit of top end work I did, I drove it to local car show and then drove it for another week. Parked it in the driveway for two weeks, went out to start it and nothing. Pulled a wire to check and its not getting any spark except for the pulse when the key is cycled off.
So far I've replaced the ignition control module, the coil, voltage regulator and the EEC relay. I figured I'd change them since they're 30 years old haha.
But its driving me nuts as to what the problem could be. Any HELP would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

The EEC-III CFI has a crank trigger sensor that reads a tone ring behind the harmonic balancer. I'm not sure if this means you don't or do have an ignition pickup in the distributor - those go bad too, if you have one. I think all that leaves is the primitive ecm...

If it seems like all hope is lost, there is always the option of an EEC-III to EEC-IV CFI conversion! Or better...

Nothing in the distributor. Crank sensor triggers the Duraspark box, which makes the coil go sparky sparky. Its actually very little different than what later models use, except the trigger is on the crankshaft instead of in the distributor.

Make sure the crank sensor plug is clean, and that the crank sensor itself is good. It would also be worth making sure you have power at the + terminal on the coil with key on, and when cranking.
