Bet it's not a stock FE block engine. The most FEs had more cubes than a SBF but I'm not going to rain on your parade. Go for it if you got the green and the time to make it work.

Crossfire was garbage. The 2 CFIs look cool but thats all.

P72crazy, I'm gonna stick with the CFI. Its grown on me like a wart. I'll keep it till I get a roller motor and more money.

Major reason is a nostalga look. Dont remember what vehicle it is in but most likely a 60 something Ford back in those days 2 4bbls and 3 2bbls were common

Chevys Cross fire was developed in the non horse power erea. They were realy experimenting ballancing emissions power and economy. On the flip side porting the intake and a few other changes picked up performance quite a bit.

My brother has a 67 and a 68 GT-500 Shelby. Both have 428 CID FE blocks with dual 4bbl carbs. He also has an intake and three duces set up for a 406 (FE Block Engine). The three duce set up is not on a vehicle (he picked it up in Charlotte at the spring show). We have not had the Shelbies cranked in years (storage) and I'm hoping we can get them out in the Spring of 14 and get them running. The 427 is the only other engine I can remember (other than the flatheads) that had "stock" multi-carb set induction systems. I'm sure I might be missing some, and there's a lot of knowledge on this site !!

Certian year 312s, 390s and 427s had mutipal carb set ups from the factory. The 312 and 390s were PI motors. the 312 was around 375 HP the 390 around 410 HP. Dont know of any factory Shelby mustangs having multipal carbs but many Cobras did. Dealers often installed multipal carb set ups back in the day.
Big reason for multipal carbs back in the day was limited CFM avalable. There were also things like 4 and 6 2bbl setups like ManIFree intakes also Moon intakes.

I know they were common but why not just go with the carbs? Save a little mpg I guess.

Both my 1st panther (84 MGM) and my last box (85 TC) had (mostly) no issue CFIs. Puttputtputtputt. It didn't bother me.
