Funny noises from AC after shutting car off

Every time I shut off my car after having the air conditioning on, I hear noises from the dash/blower motor area for about 20-30s after the car was shut off. It makes a hissing sound, like a vacuum leak would, and gets to be higher pitch. After it becomes a high pitch wine, it then cuts out. Does this indicate a leak in the system somewhere? The air conditioning works just fine otherwise and the blower motor works good too. Any thoughts?

it's the orifice tube and the AC pressure equalizing. +1 Normal.

That's good news then! I was worried that there was a leak somewhere since it was converted to R-134

thanks for posting this L1011tristar17, I've been wondering the same thing all summer but I figured if something was wrong with it I'd just bury my head in the sand cause I didn't want to deal with it and it's been working fine.

gurgling and hissing noises are pretty standard for a short time after shutting it off. If it keeps doing it, then perhaps you have a problem. If its leaking bad enough that you can hear it, it would be empty in a very short time anyway.
