I've seen threads for a lot of CV'S/older gm's with the different speedo but I'm wondering what I need for LED's in mine. I'm pretty sure they are 194's... can I just put them in? I'm pulling off the speedo this weekend anyways and I've always wanted LED's back there.

91 gm LS - LED's in cluster

194 for the cluster.
You can take note of anode and cathode (+ and -) then go through and take note of + and - side of each socket on the back of the cluster, but it actually wont hurt to just stick em in and try, you have a 50/50 chance of getting an LED to work first try.
What I did on my 91 was pull the cluster out enough to keep it connected electrically and rest it on the dash. I put a sleeve of my carhart jacked over the shifter because it will blow fuses if if the back of the cluster contacts the chrome (or whatever metal it is) plated shifter.
Turned my lights on and put LEds in one at a time, if it didn't light up I just turn it to the only other position it would go.
For all the indicator lights (turn signals, CEL, etc.) I left the original bulbs in. Unless you have the right color LEDs you may have colors that cancel each other out, for example a blue LED behind red such as red CEL the two colors will cancel each other out and you will never be able to tell the light is on. I went with blue LEDs and did put blue LED in for the Hi-beam indicator and the blue LED behind blue plastic/film (whatever you call it) is quite bright.Vic

Here's a link from 85crownHPP, it's in his sig
http://www.grandmarq.net/85crownLX/pages/LEDs.html
I looked through his page before I had done any LEDs in mine.
These are the LEDs that I have in my cluster, but I'm not sure what seller I got them from:

Thanks for the replies guys!! Glad to know I can just drop them in. I'm swapping my stock speedo for a 1-140 CVPI since my odo/tripo went bad anyways (got the new gears ofc). I've always hated that greenish glow and been wanting to swap to blue for quite some time...

My radio also has blue lighting to match. I'm not the first to switch to blue LEDs, I've seen a few on here that have done this way before I ever thought about it.
Getting at the light for the HVAC control head is very easy.
If you decide to do a full interior LED swap I can get you the part#s, but they usually are on the bulbs so all you need to do is throw whatever number is on the original bulb into ebay search and you'll find all kinds of options. So far the only interior blubs that I haven't changed are the warning/indicator lights in the cluster, the tiny light in the rear defrost button, and the map lights.
If you can get at the tiny light in the rear defrost button you'll see why I didn't swap it, and the map lights I don't really use but if I ever needed normal white light I still have the option.Vic
