it was the cornering light, so not related to the blinker circuit. It was definitely a contact issue though since I could tap the fender and it would light up. The brass was corroded and causing contact issues.

I am guessing must be wires or multifunction switch as both sockets are now replaced.
I would have preferred the flasher to not flash when a bulb is out, so I would know, but hey...
