I was driving through heavy rains today and I noticed that I no longer have high speed wipers. The other "notches" work fine, but when I change to "high" the wipers seem to hesitate for a second and continue at the same speed as the low speed wipers. Could this have something to do with the wiper motor itself?

If I remember right that is what my 89 MGM did, swapped the wiper motor and high worked fine after that.Vic

Yeah, high speed uses a separate brush in the wiper motor.Comment
