    No defrost

I have the Automatic Temperature Control system in my car, and when I put it in defrost mode nothing really comes out of the defrost vent, just the dash vents. I read somewhere that one of the doors might be broken off of the hinges. How do I get to it and where can I get a replacement?

check the vacuum lines to the actuators first. (behind the ash tray)

make sure those are trying to move as you move the selector around. This could also be the door seals gone to crap in the air plenum under the dash. To fix requires pulling the dash out and disassembling the air plenum and replacing the seals/doors. Not a fun job.

If the air never fully re-directs, its probably the air door inside the plenum is broken. When this happened to mine, it would push air from floor, dash and defrost in all modes, but would slightly increase one or the other depending where I set the controls. My workaround before fixing it was to set it to defrost and shut the dash vents to try and force a little more out of the defrost. It didn't work terribly well, but it was slightly better than nothing.
