    Gauge inputs

    Dear Panthers,

I'm buying new gauges http://www.newvintageusa.com/images/3725x-02.jpg for my 89Cp and they need to know fuel gauge sender ohms and whether the speedo sender is bale or integrated. Please advise.

Your speedometer has a cable driven input. There's also a vehicle speed sensor that's used to tell the computer how fast you're going. On 90+ models that also told the speedometer how fast you were going.

They are. Anybody know the electrical specs for the fuel guage sender?

from the 86 Towncar manual, at full the sender reads between 8 and 12 ohms, and at empty it reads between 60 and 86 ohms. Bench test uses 10 ohms for full, 73 ohms for empty. I won' swear the wagon sender is identical though. if anyone has an EVTM for an 89 Ford/Mercury, it should be in there, or in the body, chassis, electrical book as well.
