    86 efi harness diagram

ok so the 86 crown vic is dead between the rot the unreplaceable rear quater window no heat (thanks uncle bob) shot brakes and now i find a crack in the frame. i have now picked up a 2wd 85 ranger good body 2.8 v6 with bad carb and the clutch isent gonna last to long. i want to swap the stock 5.0/aod with the compleate speed densaty fuel injection system. im looking to build a nice safe reliable daily driver not so much about going fast. im looking for a iddiot proof efi harness diagram for my 86 country squire (eg. hook tis wire to constant this to switched exc). i already have the pinout for the ranger. thanks for your time

here's the easy way... pull the EFI harness off the ECM... pull all wires you can off the engine... anything going through the firewall... try to disconnect under the dash if possible and pull through the firewall... cut off if not possible.

you'll need to wire up the idiot lights and gauges and the AC controls (should only be 1 wire IIRC that actually goes through the firewall) from the ranger to that mess and can possibly leave the rest alone. You will need to tap the neutral safety switch if you're swapping in the AOD as well. Hopefully the ECM is mounted on the driver side in the ranger as well as that will make it loads easier to swap over. Otherwise you'll have to cut a hole or run a crap ton of wire to relocate it. You will probably have to tear apart a bunch of the wiring bundles to free up stuff that is not engine specific in the wiring under the hood.

as for an actual crossover chart... good luck with that. It would be best to get a EVTM service manual for each vehicle and just cross over as needed.
