    Fuel pump

    Does anyone have a guide to take out the fuel pump on a 1990 grand marquis.

      Don't have a guide, but it is inside the fuel tank.
      89 CV LX 225/60 x 16 tires, CC819 rear springs, Front & rear sway bar, trans & PS cooler from 90 cop car. KYB shocks, F-150 on rear. Dual Exhaust w/ H pipe. Dark brown door panels, carpet, steering wheel, trim parts from a 87 Mer GM. Power front buckets from 96 Jeep Cherokee. LED'S front & rear. 3G Alt from a 97 Taurus wagon 3.0. Electric fan. Rear axle from a 97 PI 3.27 with disk brakes. Headlight relays.

        on a 90+ you unbolt the fuel pump assembly from the tank.......tank removal is not required unlike the earlier boxes

        1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt

          1990 should have the pump on the front plate. look under the car, above the rear. If the fuel hoses come out of there, you can simply remove that plate and swap the pump. If not, the tank needs to come out. Either way, be sure the fuel level is as low as you can possibly get it. If the tank comes out, I'd suggest a new tank and a new fill neck seal. If its the plate type, replace the O ring under the plate or it will never seal properly.

            Where is it bolted in at? I dont see it. Do you have a picture of it?

              follow the hose from the fuel filter. where that ends at the tank is where the pump is.

                Reminds me to start mod'ing the Mustang pump. I may get another fuel tank and do my fitting and such with that tank. Sorry for the threadjack.
