Impressive. And I found the box and wires. I turned on the brights and gave all the wires a good shake (even the ones that connect into the lamp plugs). Nothing happened. So it looks like a new switch is in order so I can drive at night. But it'll have to wait until Friday when I get my check. I think I'll replace the three old lamps while I'm at it. The driver bright lamp is cracked top to bottom so it needs it anyways. Thanks guys! Now just to figure out where the stupid switch is....

the headlight switch that you pull out to turn the lights on manually... that's it. getting to it is a PITA.

There are 2 switches involved here. The pullout switch has 3 circuits, one for the dash lamps, one for the parking lamps, and one for headlight power. The multifunction switch in the column takes the headlight power feed from the main light switch and switches it between high and low beam. Either could be faulty, though the main light switch is more known for melting down. Its fairly common to find a melted terminal on it. The bitch with getting the main light switch out is you have to fish your hand up behind the dash to get hold of it, and find the little button on top. Push that in, then the light switch rod pulls out and you can unthread the trim bezel to get at the mounting nut. Once thats out, you get to fish the switch out of the dashboard from the back. Whoever came up with that mounting system should be beaten. Its absolute nonsense.

Ya know what.... Dainty sized hands would be a bonus right now.... *grumbles about stupid previous owners not taking care of the car properly* As much as I really want to do this on my own, I think I'm gonna have to ask for help on this one. But now I know what to look for in case this happens in the future. But back on the relay mod, I can just find one in an auto parts store, yes? I'm assuming I just ask for a power relay mod for headlights.

no... you would need some 12 gauge wire, some standard 30-40 amp relays, some relay harnesses or 1/4" blade disconnects (the female end), soldering iron to do it right... crimp tool to do it quicker... and the knowledge of how to splice wires and such. There is no plug and play harness for this mod (modification).

Make sure to purchase the correct headlamp switch as there are two versions. Autolamp and non autolamp.

Mine is the non autolamp (I thought LS came with more options than mine has). And yeah I def am gonna need help with this one. Not only do I not have a clue what to do, I'm not too fond of electric shock or possibly shorting out the dash and/or lights due to a f_k up. But I really appreciate the advise guys! I'd hug y'all if I could actually see ya lol

Honestly this surprises me. There are enough 4 headlamp vehicles out there that you'd figure *somebody* would make the proper harness. I guess you could buy two of the 2 lamp ones and make that work but that would be a bit spendy. I made mine for not much money, using sockets I got from a junkyard and relays I got on ebay in a 10 pack for not much.

I just spliced the relays into the stock wiring. Added wires were the batter line to the relays and the ground line from the relays to the fender.

I used the line from the switch to trip the relay (this is the grounded leg) and then battery to the switched side and output to the stock wire to the headlights.

This is the cheater's method. The real method is to replace the wires all the way to the bulbs with heavier wires as well and only use the stock wires from the headlight switch to trip the relays.

I set mine up in such a way that its roadside-reversible in the event of a failure. All of the stock wiring is there and usable, just need to plug it back in to the headlamps. I haven't needed to, but better to CYA.
