My 80 and my 90 both had cracks start in the same place- in the lower right corner when viewed from drivers seat. Why and can any thing can be done about it ( when i replace w/s)?

Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.

my car starts and it has AC. Yours doesn't start and it has no AC. Seems obvious to me.

lots of body flex can do this too. As can excessive heat or cold cycles, or washing the thing when the sun is shining on the glass. BTDT on a truck I used to own.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

What can be done to minimize body flex? Will poly body to frame mounts help so this problem doesn't occur again?“Cars are the only thing on earth that will beat you, break you, make you bleed, make you cry, spend all your money, spend all your time, not work and not care that you will love more, the more they abuse you.” -Anonymous

good body mounts go a long way if yours are shot. Not autocrossing the car or generally driving it in such a way that would cause more stress than it was designed around also helps. if you're drag racing it and pulling the tires or have hydraulics on it to do 3 wheel pulls, stuff like that will make the car unhappy without appropriate stiffening mods.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

What are those mods?“Cars are the only thing on earth that will beat you, break you, make you bleed, make you cry, spend all your money, spend all your time, not work and not care that you will love more, the more they abuse you.” -Anonymous

that you'd have to do some research on. There was a guy on here who basically plated his Mark VI frame for use with hydraulics. I can't remember who it was but maybe if you can dig that thread up, it'll give some ideas. Doing some cross-bracing to the frame would also help but the specifics are beyond my realm of knowledge. Exactly what are you doing with this car? If its a daily driver, there is no need to do all this stuff unless you just drive in such a way that you have no business being behind the wheel anyway.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Its just strange why they started in the same exact place. The body to frame bushings are on the next yo do list.“Cars are the only thing on earth that will beat you, break you, make you bleed, make you cry, spend all your money, spend all your time, not work and not care that you will love more, the more they abuse you.” -Anonymous
