    Electric Windows Not Working Properly

    Hi All,

I have a problem with both my front windows not working properly.

They will go up and down if assisted by hand but the jump and clatter.

I have heard that there are bushing to that can be replaced in the motor for a fix.

Can anyone recommend a source for the bushings or provide info on the size ect?

    Any info is appreciated.

    Thanks

I think 7/16 nuts are the right size to substitute for the bushings. A few cents versus a few bucks per door. Stack 2 or 3 in place of the worn out bushings and you've got permanent bushings...just don't keep pressing the window up or down when it's already fully up or down.

      Great info, Thanks!

My AC doesn't work very well either so at least I'll be able to open the wndows when I get them sorted out.

1/4-20 nuts have an OD of 7/16. 7/16 ball bearings work too (15/32 is better, but hard to come buy - half inch are just a bit snug for boxes - fine for aeros though - still haven't figured this one out since it's the same size hole... supposedly).

I've never been a fan of using metal in that spot. The original idea of the plastic was to be a mechanical fuse. If something jammed in the window, the plastic let go first before it crushed your kid's head or whatever. In theory anyway.
