Well, here it is. The thread for my dash/heater core replacement.
Here is what I started with.
As you can see I didn't just have cracks, I had the Grand caynon on my dash. I'm not going to go into detail about some of steps because I know that we all know how remove the insturment cluster and the radio and so forth. Having said that this will be pretty short because it eas easire that I thought.
You're going to want to drop the steering collum down to give your self room to work. I found that if you unbolt the drivers seat and move it back or remove it completely yo will have more than enough room to work.
There are four screws across the top od the dash that hold the top of the dash to the windshield. Theese may be rusted and tend to strip out.
This is the one on the deivers side, there are three more, two in the center and one on the right side.
After that there are three bolts, one on the right side behind the kick pannel, and two on the left side, one behind the kick pannel, and one behind the headlight switch.
After theese are all out the dash board will roll out into your lap.
The hardest thing about this is fishing out all the wireing. The easiest way to do this is to remove the HVAC ducting.
This is the new dash before it went in. The screw locations are marked with red arrows.
With the duction out of the way just cut any zip ties, pull the rest of the wireing out of the way and lift the dash out.
New dash in.
