easy question: 90+ box high beam switch?

...I'd consult my owner's manual if I knew where I'd put it

But I found myself on deserted country roads late last night, something highly irregular for where i live, and wanted my high beams.
I thought pulling the lights button all the way out turned them on? However, it seems to actually just force on the regular lights.
What does the middle position, pulled partially out, do? It didn't seem to do anything; didn't turn off the regular beams anyway. Was that supposed to have switched to high beams, and if so, buggered up switch?

I just realized that I forgot to check the collar to see what that did; but I'm pretty sure that's just the time delay for the automatic lights to shut off after you've pulled the key off.

The high beams DO work with pulling the washer/wiper lever forward, but that does not turn them on continuously.

    thanks!

push it forward for high beams. It will stay there. Pull it towards you for flash to pass.

      thanks!

what does the middle position for the knob, pulled halfway, do? I couldn't see any difference while driving at night with the lights already on, but, pulled all the way out forces them on, so the middle position must do something else.

On my 87 the middle position just puts on the parking lights with the auto headlights option turned off. If you have the autolamps on while driving at night that knob will seem to do nothing because your parking lamps have already been illuminated.

pull it towards you to blind assholes with their high beams on.

            excellent, thanks.
Hah-- no, I was driving in the country, which is why I was considering using my high beams. That's why I never use them; I don't want to be an asshole, and any where around Baltimore, there are always other cars around at all hours on all streets.
