Routing of starting enrichment solenoid wires on 2700 vv carb?

When converting my 80 ltd to aod from fmx I ran into a problem of finding a 2 bbl with a aod linkage but I found a 2700 vv carb with aod linkage. So here is my question: where are those two wires from starting enrichment solenoid lead to? On 2bbl originally it has one wire for steeper motor.

was your car originally VV? because if it was originally a standard 2-barrel, not a variable venturi, you have FAR more things to deal with than just that. It's really, really not worth your time.

I wonder if i splice a wire into start ignition wire and add dashboard switch to turn enrichment solenoid on and off (for 5 sec).

Get a carb from an 82 Tbird. Its a 2150 with AOD linkages. You really do not want a VV. Most people remove them. Nobody installs one.

And you'd need a whole ecu, o2 sensors, knock sensor, another temp sensor, etc. to do said install.

As a vv carb owner, trust me, it's a road thoroughly not worth going down if your car was not born with it. As thain said, it's not even a road most people keep going down. Ford had a dealer kit back in the day to convert vv style carbs to normal holley 2barrel. The special parts you'd need to find are numerous and generally overpriced or flatout unavailable.

But mine is nonfeedback one (2700 model) . It doesn't need ecu nor o2 sensors. it has just cranking enrichment solenoid. The reason im trying to make it work because I cant find a factory 2150 with aod linkage locally.

Yes the solenoid is hooked up to the igntion switch circuit, when you are in the "Start" or "crank" position the solenoid should be energized, and when the key is turned to run it will no longer be energized.

Apparently the coolant temperature switch is involved in this system as well, and will prevent the solenoid from energizing at temperatures above 125 degrees. So if the original electrical system is not in tact and you wire up the solenoid to the ignition switch properly, it will activate even when the engine is warm. You could incorporate a cutoff switch for the solenoid when you know the car is warmed up.

I too have the VV carb but it is the 7200 feedback version. I personally haven't seen the non-feedback, please let us know how it goes, and post pictures if you can!

                Hope this helps!

Thanks. This solenoid has two wires so can ether wire be used to power it?

I don't believe so you will most likely destroy the solenoid if you hook it up backwards. Unfortunately i do not have a wiring diagram for it that shows which wire is which....maybe someone with better electrical knowledge than i can chime in how to test which wire would be power and which would be ground.
