hey guys this is my first post to the forums.
I have a 88 Grand Marquis 5.0 with a 100 amp alternator on it, when I got the vehicle the post that the main power cable bolted to on the alternator case was melted so bad that half the bolt had melted away so I removed the alternator and replaced it with one from a junk yard, and I repaired and replaced any fried wiring and fittings. I then tried to check for voltage at the battery with the car running and found the battery was loosing power instead of receiving a charge, so I removed and replaced the voltage regulator and checked for voltage at the battery again with the same result, battery loosing voltage, at this point I was stumped but had read on this forum that the in dash idiot light if bad can cause my problem so I tore the dash all apart and replaced the bulb as it did look to be a lil dim to me. again I started the car and checked for a charge going to the battery and again I found the the battery was loosing charge as the vehicle is running. At this point I am at a total loss as to where to begin looking next.
Any assistance you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated as I need to get this thing running before the snow hits.
Thanks in advance, Hustlewrench
