Sorry for dumb questions. Where to get a megafuse for 3G conversion? Do fatter wires have to be installed?

Fatter charge wire is highly recommended. 3 g alternator uses a charge stud whereas the old 2g had the spade connections. Check out ebay and type in mega fuse. plenty of cheap options come up. Or you can visit your local auto wreckers/junkyard and pick one up easily from any vehicle with a 3g alternator. Easy way to make the connection is to put one side of the fuse on the battery or starter solenoid while bolting the charge cable to the other side. Mega fuse holders are also sold if you want to go that route. Either way works.~David~

You can find 130-amp charge wires with fuse links on other fords in the junkyard, thats what I use. Its hard to find ones long enough to reach, even more so to find ones you can tuck away nice.
Most Taurus 3G donors have a nice long 2-piece charge wire and a mega-fuse you can harvest, if you feel like extracting and dissecting a semi-buried wire harness.Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

The bonus to stealing the cable from a car is that its finer stranded, so more flexible than Home Depot wiring. Fancy stereo wire works nicely though.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

welder cable works well too (it's of the finer stranded variety)
