That scooter and the truck have been a huge distraction, I feel chump-ish for for not doing much of anything to the cars all season...!!!

It will be a wait for the slow boat from China to get the strips, but once they get here and in my hands, Im sure the LED-itis will hit me and I'll get it done quick, like the LED dash II went last year. Or was that 2 years ago...

I ordered a 3 meter strip... now to wait 2-3 weeks for the slow boat to arrive

If I did the math right, I think I can squeeze 4 strips in there, netting 72 SMD style LEDs, which are bigger/brighter than what are in the current LED dash strips.
The strips are going to be pretty much right behind the lense (using some used Landau clears), hopefully the lense will disperse the light a little still.

Im still up in the air to whether I want to wire them like 'normal', dimmer for running lights and flash bright for signals; or to run them bright all the time like DRL's and have them blink off with the signals.

I cut and soldered 4 strips today, looks like I did good.
Heres a better mock-up using a cardboard backing plate, holding it together with scotch tape. The finished product is still many days away, I need to find and fab up a thin piece of plastic to attach the strips too and get some blank sockets to fill the socket holes.

Ummm.... yeah.
