Hey guys! I'm gonna be getting my heater core replaced in my 89. I dont want to go through it myself. LOL. So i'll pay somebody else to take care of my problem. But anyways I took it to mechanic that I know and have been doing business with him for 3yrs now. He figured up a fast quote on doing the job and came up to be $342 dollars... Not too bad But not too good either. lol. But i'm having it done. I went without heat one year and not doing that sht again. fuck no... Damn windshield would constantly start fogging and have to wipe off. I got caught in snow one time and that was a fucking nightare... Snow was sticking to my windshiled and the wipers would not wipe it off. It kept clogging up... It got so bad that I drove about 10 mins back home with my head out the window so I could see... My face looked like an apple and stung when I got back.... So im fixing that problem before winter comes back around. LOL

Hope it is a good quality core because $30 is pretty cheap. For that total price I'd have it done too. It is a Pain In The Ass job!!

It is a large job. Shit will break on him, or whoever does the job if they are not extremely careful.~David~

lowest quote around here was $580. everyone thinks you have to remove the evap core to get to the heater core too. WTF? Is ALLDATA actually wrong on something? I called 3 places and they all gave me the same list of issues... including recover AC, disconnect evap core... etc.
sounds like this mechanic actually knows WTF he's doin.

aluminum tend to take the pressures better over time when built right... copper always ends up springing a leak around a solder joint. It could be 5 miles... it could be 500,000 miles. Aluminum replacement in my 88 is holding good.
