    ATC Fan

Ok now that I finally got my ATC working again is there any way to test and see if the auto fan speed is working correctly sometimes it seems like its blowing faster than others but I'm not really sure. Are the blower speeds on auto small intervals or fairly large I'm just gonna assume Teresa a way to test it and that if its not working the sensor is probably exceptionally difficult to replace.

the blower speeds on auto are low, med, high. to test this... turn the AC on... let it cool down... then set it colder (should speed up) and then warmer (should slow down). If it does that... it works.

if it doesn't work... the blend door lever actuator (the thing that all the vacuum and electrical lines are plugged into (except the fan and defrost switches) on the climate controls is probably having issues.

If you can barely feel the air from the vents blowing a foot or so away on high (like my 88 before the blower relay mod) you may want to consider the relay mod. I can feel them about midway in the back seat now.

yup, when its set to full cold or full hot, you should have full blower speed unless its already really hot or really cold in the car. In between those extremes, it should slow down. The speed switch that hooks to the blend door has the low speed position when the blend door is somewhere in the middle of its travel. Medium is out a bit further from center, with full high out at the ends.

ok well it seems that it is not working correctly but seeing that the other three speeds (low med and hi) all work fine i dont think im going to mess with it also when on high it really blows the cold air it was 98 degrees last week the day i fixed it and i went on a drive with it set all the way towards cold and the fan on high and after about 20 mins had to turn the temp up and the blower down. Makes me wonder why ppl say r134a conversions arent cold enough because it is plenty cold.

because R-12 would have taken 10 minutes. my 93 vic that Scott has will do that.
