Where is this switch located? I think I have the same problem. My fuel gauge used to take forever to finally register after a fill up. It always worked fine and then one day I filled it up and the light never went off and no needle movement. I'm thinking this is my issue as well. All my wires look fine and it wasn't acting up it just stopped one day. I know my previous experience with ford sending units has been that they go goofy for a while then quit.
