For a while now whenever I had the high beams on, they'd flicker every once in a while. Last night they went out for good. The low beams still work. What could cause this? I can't remember if there is a relay to switch from low to high beams, or is it all in the multiswitch?

Oh, its been replaced... I hope its not a defective new part! It could just be the connector got burnt a little too and is acting up. Do you remember how it looked when you replaced the switch?Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

Nope, no auto dim.
Pete, when I replaced the old switch I looked over the connector, looked great. Doesn't mean it isn't burnt now though. I might pull it and see what the problem is. Whenever the lights flickered I waited to smell something burning but never did. I guess it's possible the problem is under the hood.
Now that I think about it, you know how when you turn on the high beams you can pull the stalk a little farther and it gives you what I assume to be passing lights, or something since the beams go a little brighter, it's not even doing that. The more I think about it the more I think it's gotta be the multiswitch. IIRC I replaced it four or five years ago. I'll pull the thing and get back to you.

could be a loose harness. That's what the problem was in my Mark when the brights didn't work. wiggled all the wire harnesses (3) that go from the firewall to the lights and the brights have worked fine since.

I found the problem. The connector for the high beams came loose from the plastic plug. Dunno how it happened, could have been back when I put the new switch in, and it vibrated loose. I put it back in and taped the wires together to keep it from moving. Works fine now. One less thing I don't have to pay for.
