    climate control problem

in the manuals i have they don't have any diagrams for the climate control. i need one for a 90 GM 5.0.

here's what happened. going to pick up my daughter, and on the way back home the fan shut off. just before that i only had the high fan speed, anything lower it was off. knowing that i replaced the blower resistor, the old one had turned the ground pin into ash. and melted the connector, i replaced that too. i can hear the switch working through the radio, with a tape in and the dolby turned off...
i just wish i could find the diagram so i know which ones i'm back probing, and where they all go...

    thanks guys!

So you replaced the blower motor resistor, and now what does it do? Nothing at all? High speed only? Something else ?

no speeds at all. but my theory is that since it spent so long on hi speed, that the motor just burned out.

i'm pulling my multimeter out in the morning, and going to town on the wires.
i have tried 2 different resistors in case anyone was going to ask. picked up a second one for the off-chance the first was bad too.

Did you check the fuse? Should be the only 30 amp jobber in the panel.

When you replaced the connector, did you check how the replacement pigtail was pinned? And by that I mean, the colors don't match the same pins. You gotta re-pin the pigtail to match the original if you want to keep the wire colors matched up.

i soldered them together. the pigtails were the same since they both were 1990's.

i got it to work. the blower was fried. bought a new one from rock auto. now it's on to figure out how o get the heater warmer. i'll start with the sticky's...

            thanks again guys!

You didn't say you got a used one.
