the intake doesn't need to come off to get that out. Use a nutdriver or a ratchet with a 5/16 socket to get the clamp loose, then use a razor knife to slice it off. Its a bit of a pain in the ass, but its certainly not impossible.

Ya thats what I was thinking. Just gotta see what happens when I get it all together and hope that I have heat. Anyone know why the blower only works on low? Doesnt matter where I move the selector it wont turn off either. Im thinking switch but idk for sure. Love the car and just want it all to work right.

Well got it all together today. The heater does change speed but when you slide it to off, it goes to defrost and stays at full hot. Not a big deal as the rest of it works right. Well with the exception of FLOOR funtion which I will fix at a later time.

sounds like something is flaky with the selector itself, or maybe a vac line underneath is broken or switched around.

The odd thing is it started working fine once i started driving the car. So im assuming it was just low system vac or something. The only really odd thing I dont get is why when I hit the unlock button it opens the trunk??? LOL Im never too lazy to reach over and unlock the doors myself as only one door was working anyways.

              Thanks Gadget for ur response.

low vacuum does default to hot defrost, so that might explain it. A vacuum leak somewhere would explain it too. if it shifts around when you step on the throttle, its definitely a leak.

the door unlock button pops the trunk? what? Do you have keyless entry? Both of those circuits come together in the keyless entry module. I suppose if something went bizzarely wrong in that area, the unlock circuit and the trunk popper circuit could get crossed up somehow.

No keyless entry. What im thinking is maybe one of the wires behind the glove box I might have connected to the wrong relay or something as the switch in the glove box doesnt do anything. As for the heater thing it doesnt shift around or anything now. It does exactly what it should. When I first tested it, when I would turn it off it would default to full hot on defrost. After I drove it around for a while, it started working right. Turns off when its supposed to and everything so maybe it was low on vac pressure...idk. Im just glad its working right. Just gotta diagnose the lock thing. Thanks guys for your help, its really appreciated.
