    adding gauges?

I recall someone on here about a month ago added a gorgeous cluster of gauges: oil pressure and battery voltage and rpms would be the things I'd like to have! Maybe transmission temperature.

    Does anyone remember the thread?
Or if you don't; doesn't matter: how hard is it to add these gauges by building a custom console addition over the tranny hump, and, where would you buy the gauges (that look good!)?

Now, some things are already present: battery and oil pressure lights are just the same sensor designed to trigger the light at a certain too-low voltage, and a certain too-low oil pressure; so I imagine I can tie in a gauge of my own into those existing wires?
Other things, like rpm, I don't know if they exist at all to just "tie into"....

First wondering if this is a project I want to take on, how hard is it?
But also; before I bolt in my CD changer, maybe I want to think about building a larger instrument cluster

whoops! don't know why I thought it was a month ago, must've just bumped into it a month ago; here was the thread:

    Shall I do this?

Sure..cant go wrong with knowing how the car is preforming. If using electric gauges it would be easier to just run new wires as most of the wires terminate in the speedo cluster that it is just not worth touching. With mechanical gauges you have to be careful how you route them making sure not to really kink anything. Stock sensors (or sendors..I can never remember the proper terminology) should be removed and replaced with new ones supplied with gauges.

A 'sender' is a switch, on-off for a dummy light or dummy gauge.
A 'sensor' is what sends a varying signal to a real gauge.
