Brighter Parking Lights

Anyone made their parking lights brighter? Without melting the parking light housings? I like the look of just parking lights in the dusk hour.

Right now I have '91 clears and I suppose I need to have amber turn signals to pass inspection come october. So amber bulbs are good, however I'd be willing to swap in the stock ambers if I could work out a bright clear parking lights. I've been run clear stock bulbs without any problems from the local police.

I'm open to LED or conventional. I just want brightness at a reasonable cost (without melting)! I don't really want to modify the lenses.

Any suggestions?

I wouldn't worry about melting the parking light housings. Worry about melting the wire and connector on the headlight switch. That thing is barely adequate. Put in a dozen brighter parking lights and dash lights and you've got a problem waiting to happen.

Burnt part of the connector is the parking/running/dash light connector. Plus an inch or so of crispy wire in my case. Running "correct" lamps.

This is true - but there are some wicked bright LED bulb replacements out now, Im sure they would do the job. $10-$15 each last I checked.

And the L.E.D.'s use alot less energy... so less problems with burning up wires, and not as hot, either....

LEDs would be the way to go to keep electrical demand down.
