    Windows Stuck

    So I came out to my car this afternoon and my windows are stuck. They wont roll down from the driver controls or from the individual door controls. I checked all fuses and none are blown. The weird thing is that my power seats are working fine, my radio, antenna, power locks and mirrors are all working fine.

    any ideas?

    *figures this happens on a 90 degree humid day.

      nothing at all. and yea it prolly is. I was thinking of hooking up my AC again.

        I wonder if the 12V feed line came loose from the driver controls.

          My vote would be on a broken power feed to the window switches. It all feeds through the driver's side door switch, and if the main power feed is broken somewhere, you get squat. Its most likely to be broken right at the switch, or in the boot that connects from the body to the door since thats where things flex most.

            so if the power feed to the drivers door is broken, that would also affect each individual door? cuz the passenger door and the rear doors all do not work.

              There's also a circuit breaker on the starter solenoid under the hood. It's a breaker specifically for the power window circuit. It has a yellow/green wire on it. see if it has power going through it.

                yes. the other doors get their power from the window lock switch if I'm not mistaken.

                  yeah, it pulls power through the window lock switch, so if no power gets to the driver's door, no power gets anywhere else either.

                    new development. on saturday night, the locks decided to stop working. Could it still be the circut breaker that 86vickyLX speaks of?

                    also, when Im pressing the lock button there is a clicking behind the dash around the glove box.

                      sounds like a relay issue then (there's relays in these cars?)

                        Not on the power locks there aren't. There is a circuit breaker for them on the fuse panel. Maybe has gone bad, and making an arc?

                            Actually there are. They are on the passenger side behind the kick panel. There's a lock and an unlock relay. But it's one self contained unit. It's very unlikely that both unlock and lock failed. So you'd be looking at a fuse problem. Come to think of it, if the fuse is blown, the relay will still work, but the locks will not. Also, your power seats shouldn't be working.

                              The lock and unlock relays are usually seperate units on vehicles without keyless entry. My car has two seperate relays down there at any rate. Keyless cars have the relays built into the keyless entry module. Either way, highly unlikely that both would crap out at once, and theyre not related to the power windows either.
