    couple questions for the pros

    1) how do you remove the cars computer on 1990 CV 5.0 SW-- I want more room to fix parking brake

    2) i disconnected a blue box on top of silver box (i guess car comp.) that had 'airbag' written on it.- would that reset comp. or cause a car not to start...ect...????

    3) there are 5 power (yellow) igntion wires. are they all supposed to test + for power with a test light. or

heres the thing. I had an automatic starter wired up and I pulled it/ cut it off becuause i thought it had a problem with it... have since swaped a few igntion wiring harnesses in place... and sometimes car starts and other times there is no power to any wires ( checked with test light).

    4) Ive been playing around with this for few weeks now , and it seems that if I leave car off for few days, power returns to wires.... does that make sense???

any help is apprceatied. It is not the starter/ soleoid/ igntion piece. as car starts up fine sometimes when playing with wires. I guess I can just keep playing around with it.

disconnecting the airbag computer may tell the engine computer to do nothing since "it's not safe"

as for the wiring... double check your connections... if they're crimped... solder them. They may just be coming loose. a loose crimp can cause this as well.

      1) to remove the ECM
unbolt the cruise servo under the hood and move it out of the way
unbolt the 10mm bolt in the middle of the ECM connector
pull the ECM harness out of the ECM
under the dash, pull the computer straight down. it sits in a spring clip, and if you pull down on the back edge it will just pull down and out

      2) the airbag module controls the airbag only. I would not reconnect that without unhooking the battery first.

      3) need an EVTM, or at least scans from the pages concerning power distribution, ignition, and starting circuits to figure out what those wires should do.

      4) you're gonna have to get an evtm and chase wiring out. Sounds like the remote starter crap is spliced in somewhere and its fucking you up. You'll have to find it, remove it, and restore any wiring to factory configuration before we can even guess at what its doing. If there is some magical box thats added in between the ignition switch and under the hood, it might be screwing with things.

i removed the remote starter. and since, I have tried to swap a few inginiton wiring harnesses and sometimes it would work , ( it shut off once while driving). .. I guess that was due to me not properly securing and splicing wires together...

I take it people don't hold of remote starters here. Usually in summer car doesn't need time to warm up ,,, but in the winter it is nice to just get in car and drive away.....

Get yourself one of these. Regardless of what you're doing, this thing is invaluable to have, especially for 22 bucks. This one is for your car exactly. Just do a buy it now.

Remote starters are a nice thought, and when installed properly they are nice but my big fear is a botched install that results in issues like you are experiencing. I'll deal with a cold car that I know will start rather than a warm one that might keel over someplace because of a hacked harness.
