Hey guys, anyone wanting to use a nice heavy duty relay may want to consider one of these. I used to install 2 way Motorola 150w mobile radio's, and those things pulled about 45 to 50 Amps. Motorola supplied nice heavy duty relays. I've been using one on my electric fan for 2 years no problems.

    Here's some on Ebay cheap:

i bought a electric fan relay kit from auto zone
im using the fan off a 97 CV, plus an 8" toyota pusher fan off it, with a 25 amp fuse. the single big fan is enough to keep my 351 cool with a cowl to let out heat. The way i mounted it was i rotated it upside down form how it was originally installed and a big plastic tab fit into a stamped hole in the crossmember, and then i used a "L" bracket to screw it to the upper rad mount

          Done!

DONE!!!! This thing is great! I hard wired it right to the battery with 10 ga wires. Also, I used a Tyco 12v 75 amp relay from ebay for $26.00. To a switch on the dash. This taurus fan rocks. Here is a pic.

One out of a Lincoln Mark something or other. It was front wheel drive with a 3.8. Under the hood it all looked like a Taurus.

Continental is the FWD 3.8 car. Fancy Taurus is about all it amounts to.

                        Ha!

This is a bad ass fan. I dont see myself buying a $70 - $200 fan from a website or parts house. I have it hooked from the ignition to, a switch, to a relay. I have an adjustable thermostate that I could put in, but I dont trust it. Its new, but I feel like its gona cause me problems. What do yall think?

I'd use the sensor for the switch instead of the dash switch. then you won't forget to turn it on.

Looks EXACTLY like the mark VIII fan, never seen one in any 3.8 cars though. Wonder if someone swapped that in there. They are awesome fans and they fit in our cars great.

Here's the fan I picked up today. Supposedly it's from a '95 3.0L Taurus. It's a LOT smaller than anything I've seen pictures of .....

In the pic, it's shoved all the way down and to the left.

yeah... they're not that big (neither is the front end of a taurus)
