I've got an '84 Grand Marquis a few months ago and for as long as I've had the lights on/key in ingnition warning chime has been very faint. I can barley hear the thing. I checked the fuses and there all good, so I have no idea what could be wrong. It does have an after market CB radio hooked up to the fuses that control the warning chimes, but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Thanks for the help!

probably the chimer thing is dead or dying. Replace it if you want it louder. It lives under the dash, somewhere in the general area of below the radio.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Yeah I have the same problems for many years...never bothered to replace the thing though. Lately I just leave the headlights on AUTO and everything is taken care for me.Strangely the the key in ignition and door open chime is loud as hell.

my car starts and it has AC. Yours doesn't start and it has no AC. Seems obvious to me.
