    Windshield Wipers

Probably been covered before, but I stopped after page four. The bushing/cam that actuates the wiper arms died on me. I can see the bushing/cam spinning, but the arms don't move; actually they move a little, but don't catch. Can I swap the whole unit or at least just the arms with an aero box wiper setup? In other words, are the '79-'91 wiper systems interchangeable?

I don't think so......on aero's the wiper motor mounts from underneith, instead of on top like a box would.
.....of course I could be wrong, but I would think it would all be backwards.

So I guess they're only interchangeable from '79-'87? I guess I gotta do some fab work like I did with my old Malibu.

I'm not sure......I just remembered that 87GTvic's car has a newer style wiper motor.
You might want to ask him about it.

The motors should all fit the wiper box the same from 79-91. The plugs changed at some time though. You've got the older style motor that I believe doesn't exist after 1986. Rockauto lists a reman one for 52 bucks and gives the following for interchange:
