    Alternator whine

The 1980 lincoln has always had a bit of alternator whine through the speakers but lately it seems the longer I drive the louder and more intence it gets. after turning the car off and restarting a bit later its quiet again for a while. also when anything else electrical is on you hear it through the speakers, ie. break lights, pwr window motors, wipers etc..
Any idea what would be causing it to get louder as I drive?

try replacing the noise surpresors. there is one on the voltage regulator and i cant remember for the life of me if our carbed cars have another somewhere else lol. its a cylinder looking thing with one wire and one bolt holding it.

Check the grounds for the radio power feed. I'd also check the grounds at the battery, the engine, and the engine to body ground connections.
