    GM with sequential tail lights?

This is a mod I would eventually love to do, can I modify a sequential tailight harness from another car, or use an aftermarket kit for a mustang? I think it would look really cool, I loved the old t-birds with them.

      Hi 91 GrandMarquis

I used a sequential turn signal kit from This Guy for both my Town Car and Marauder, I used the kit for a 96 - 04 Mustang.

I am not sure of the tail light set up on your car but understand you have only two turn signal bulbs so simply not use the center bulb conection from the module. Is there a spare unused bulb position in your tail lights that you could fit an extra turn signal into?

You will also have to modify your flasher unit, the easiest way to do this would be to buy a kit from the previous link that comes with a flasher unit then fit it to your car in place of the original turn signal/flasher units, check out This Link for how to do it.

Thanks, it will be a while before I can do this, but I look forward to it, maybe it will keep me busy this summer.

A box grand marquis would be easy to modify the inner lamps to fit a turn/brake/tail lamp socket (the inner is just a tail light) for a three bulb side sequential system.

Right there are only two (the outermost) flashing turn signals, but I can add the inners to this circuit right? to create a 3 bulb system.

You could somehow chop the rear end up to fit box lights. That could be very cool, or very terrible depending on how it came out. Mustang lights may be cool to fit in the back of a vic... lots of metal work. something like this...

all way too much work when you could just get a merc though. I think it will look really sweet when its all done, the sequentials that is. My next question however is how much wiring is needed, is it mostly at the tail-light end or do I have to run all new wires? I assume its designed to plug into a mustang harness for easy install, which would mean I cut and splice and add the third light on to that circuit, however Im not sure if this is the right train of thought.

Well.... I have more money than I thought in my bank account.... and you know what that means. I just want to double check on this.. is most of the wire work to be done under the dash and at the tail light end IE, I don't have to run a whole new length of wire front to back? Im very seriously considering ordering this kit with my next check... and that will keep my mind off of worrying about paying for college, and getting a girlfriend a little longer, haha.

Also it should be noted that I am fucking terrible at wiring.. but my dad is alright with it. Im not bad at soldering connecting.. it is the figuring out part that sucks dick. Gotta learn sometime though.

some setups don't even require any wiring under the dash, just at the tail lights. The adjustable ones will require running wire for the wired remotes, but there are self adjusting ones out there that just attache the modules at the lights and you're done (IIRC).

yeah, but I think I need to upgrade to an electronic flasher instead of the mechanical I have.

maybe... but that's just fuse box fodder. no wiring needed.
